This coming Monday, the debate between Clinton and Trump will be held. We may think we are judging the candidates based on political views but, in reality, we are judging on so many more aspects. The candidate's body language also has a large amount to do with it, 'Public words' a blog about tone and body language says that 55 percent of the effectiveness of communication comes from the speaker's body language. I'm sure that we've all noticed how Trump slices the air, and Hilary Clinton throws here hands into the air after a triumphant speech. The article mentions that trump does all his gestures around the chest area, which actually spikes the heart rate of viewers. This is not a bad strategy, as the audience gets the feeling that will actually 'move' their country out of the status quo. Mark Bodwen, a body language expert, coaches some politicians in body language. he teaches them to walk on the left side so their hand is in front of the opposer's hands, closer to the audience making them look bigger and more powerful. This makes me wonder about how much is taught, and planned before hand, for these gravely important people, and how to behave at these important events.

authorI'm Marie De Mey, and I have a twin, and sister. I live in Canada but I'm originally from Ghent, Belgium. Hence, I believe that Belgian waffles are the most delicious in the whole world. My family nicknames me "Frietje," the dutch word for fries, which I adore. I enjoy to dance, and read novels. The styles of dance that I learn are ballet, pointe work and jazz. I have played the drums and studied Japanese since grade 4. I love going to school, doing new things, traveling and creating experiences. I consider myself funny and to the point. I enjoy being around people, especially my family. One day, I aspire to become a doctor. I recently graduated from grade school so now I am in grade 9, and will be 14 on October 19th, 2016. I haven't really put much thought into where I see myself in the world in the future... 86,400 seconds a day, but don't forget every second counts, so self-advocate and savour every moment and everything will be okay. archives
